  • Always, always, always, accompany small children.
  • Always use the sidewalk, and look both ways before you cross.
  • A flashlight will help you see, and help cars see you.
  • Ask if your hospital offers free x-raying of candy.
  • Avoid cutting across unfamiliar yards or driveways.
  • Carry a cell phone, or enough change to make a phone call.
  • Do not to eat any treats until they are examined.
  • Do not to eat unwrapped treats, especially from strangers.
  • Help plan the route kids take and set a return time.
  • Leave emergency info (name, address, phone) inside a pocket.
  • Never enter a stranger's home under any circumstances!
  • Only approach familiar homes with lights on.
