| Wash and dry the apples, remove the stem and insert wooden
sticks into the apple firmly. Combine sugar, corn syrup, 1-cup cold water
and cinnamon candies in a heavy saucepan. Cook over low heat until the sugar
and candies are dissolved, but mixture does not boil. Add the food coloring
and cinnamon and boil until it reaches 300 F on a candy thermometer. Remove
syrup from heat when it reaches 300 and dip each apple into syrup. Swirl
to coat apple. Place coated apples onto greased cookie sheets to cool and
harden. Let them stand at room temperature until ready to serve. Make 6
candy apples. |
