Halloween Recipes for Apples

Caramel Apples


Ingredients
  • 5 or 6 small apples
  • 1 package (14 oz) caramels
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Wooden skewers
  • Caramel  Apples
    Line baking sheet with buttered waxed paper and set aside. Rinse and dry apples. Insert skewers into apples. Combine caramels and water in a medium saucepan.  Cook the mixture over medium/low heat, stirring constantly, until caramels melt. Cool slightly then dip each apple in caramel mixture, coating apples. Place on prepared waxed paper sheet. Refrigerate until firm. For variety roll apples in crushed peanuts.

    Caramel Witchy Apples


    Ingredients
  • 5 or 6 small apples
  • 1 package (14 oz) caramels
  • 1 cup miniature marshmallows
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Wooden skewers
  • So much fun to make and more fun to eat! Use the recipe above or follow the recipe on the caramels package that you buy to melt the caramels until caramels are a thick liquid. Put a stick in each apple and dip the apple in the liquid caramel. Set aside and decorate quickly by using small candies to make faces on the candy apples. Place long strands of thin licorice (pre cut) on the sides of the apples so that it looks like hair. You can use red or black licorice or any long stringy candy. Now place an empty ice cream cone (chocolate or vanilla) on the top for a witches hat. These wont last long so make them just before Halloween.

    Caramel Marshmallow Apples

    Caramel Apple Crunch


    Ingredients
  • 8 oz Cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon Caramel Flavoring
  • Crunch  Apples
    Blend all ingredients together with a mixer. You can put the topping on the apples and serve it, or you can dunk the apple slices in the mixture. you can slice the apples and put them in a curvy line like the photo to make them look like a snake. They taste like caramel apples, but they don't stick to your teeth. Yumeeee! Dip apple slices in lemon lime soda to prevent them from browning.

    Candy Apples


    Ingredients
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 2 cup Light corn syrup
  • 1/3 cup Cinnamon (hearts)
  • 1 cup Cold water
  • 1/2 tbs Red food coloring
  • 1/2 tbs Cinnamon
  • 6 McIntosh or Delicious apples
  • 6 Popsicle Sticks
  • Wash and dry the apples, remove the stem and insert wooden sticks into the apple firmly. Combine sugar, corn syrup, 1-cup cold water and cinnamon candies in a heavy saucepan. Cook over low heat until the sugar and candies are dissolved, but mixture does not boil. Add the food coloring and cinnamon and boil until it reaches 300 F on a candy thermometer. Remove syrup from heat when it reaches 300 and dip each apple into syrup. Swirl to coat apple. Place coated apples onto greased cookie sheets to cool and harden. Let them stand at room temperature until ready to serve. Make 6 candy apples.

    Apple Surprise


    Ingredients
  • Apples
  • peanut butter
  • melted chocolate
  • candy sprinkles
  • mixed apple
    Cut your apples in half. Leave the peel on, but remove the core and seeds. Scoop out the core and seeds with a spoon and fill that area up with peanut butter. Now dip in melted chocolate and top with sprinkles.
