Make
a dungeon in your home that looks real with just a little work. Here
are some ideas, or create your own. You can make your dungeon in your
home, garage or cellar. The builder made a jail bar fence with PVC
pipes inserted in wooden slates. Note all the props.
MAD SCIENTIST:
Have a helper pose as a mad scientist and dress up in ghoulish
clothes or a scientists lab coat. This person could help usher your
guests through the dungeon to your party and could also start spooky
music playing when guests come.
OLD JARS:
You can use any jars. Fill jars with water and food coloring
in them. Put some fake plastic bugs, frogs or snakes in some of the
jars. If you have a rubber head, hand or brain put it in a jar with
a little food coloring. Now complete the job by making labels to put
on your jars.
RUBBER MOUSE:
Place a rubber mouse on the floor, where it is out of the
way but still seen. Place in a real mouse trap if you have one.
COBWEB:
Place lots of cobweb on the stairs, doorways, windows, and
photos. It looks best in corners stretching out to furniture. The
more you use the better the look. A nice inexpensive decoration Please
use safety precautions when placing cobwebs around any flames or electrical
devices.
SKELETONS:
Have some plastic skeletons around. Have one hanging from
the ceiling or place one in a corner sitting or lying down. The more
the scarier.
STOCKADE:
This stockade was made with just a few pieces of lumber. You
will have to cut 3 holes with a jig saw. Make a dummy using old clothes
(stuffed with cloth) an an old mask. You can have the dummy stand
or sit depending on how tall you make the stockade.
Decorate with antique
photographs
The electric chair was made with plywood and some old 2 x 4's. The
head piece was made from an old metal bowl and some electrical conduit.
Old belts were used to make the straps. This takes a while to make
but can be used year after year once it's made. You could put a homemade
dummy in it for effect.
