| Decorating Deadroom (bedroom) |
Bedroom:
If you have guests staying overnight you may want to decorate the
guest bedroom in your home or decorate your bedroom. Here's a few
ideas for decorating the bedroom. Use old torn curtains for table
clothes and curtains. Spread some fake cobweb around the room but
be sure to keep it away from lamps, etc. You can find Halloween bedspreads
with matching pillows at stores like Marshall's or on the web, or
you can use old torn curtains. Put a rubber mouse on the nightstand.
Your guests will know you cared enough to go the extra step. Halloween
fabric is available if you can make the bedspreads yourself. |
Pillow:
The Halloween pillows can be used on the
bed or on a chair. You can find them at stores like Marshall's or on the web.
There is Halloween fabric at hobbies stores if you can make the pillows yourself
rather easily. |
Window:
Add Halloween spirit to the windows, try some spooky curtains. Use
old material or sheets and wash them in gray dye. Rinse and wash them
immediately until you are sure that there is no extra dye. Tatter
the sheet edges to make them look old. Or decorate your windows with
some pictures that you make yourself. Go to the
"Coloring Pages" on this web site. |
Bloody Mirror:
Add a touch of Halloween to the mirror. Decorate with washable water
color paints. Place some newspaper under your mirror to catch any
drips. Put the red water color paint in a flat container and than
dip your hands in the paint and press them against the mirror for
a few seconds. I bet the children would be happy to do this for you. |
Ghosts:
Helium balloons covered with old white material or white trash bags
make great ghosts. Paint or use magic marker to make scary faces on
them. Anchor the balloon with a small bag of sand at the end of the
string. The wind moves them and seems to give them life. Placing the
ghosts together in small groups of 3 looks even better. The faces
can be drawn on with a marker if you don't find balloons with faces.
Put up some plastic spiders on the curtain also. |
Jack-o-lantern:
Decorate the bedroom with a Jack-o-lantern. Placing a Jack-o-lantern
with an electric candle gives the room a nice decorative Halloween
motif and it smells nice too. If using a candle be extra cautious.
Illuminating the Jack-o-lantern with a battery is always safest. |
Picture frame: Here's a nice touch. Dress up an old photo of a loved one that your
quests know and are familiar with. Taping a paper pumpkin to the frame gives
a regular frame a Halloween flavor. |
Rubber Mouse: Place a rubber mouse on the floor of the bedroom near the bed where
it is out of the way but can still be seen. If you have one, place the mouse
in a real mouse trap. |
