Decorating the Bathroom

mirror

Bloody Mirror:

Add a touch of Halloween to the mirror. Decorate the mirror with washable water color paints. The red paint was mixed so that it was a thick consistency and not to thin. Place some newspaper under your mirror to catch any drips. Put the red water color paint in a flat container and than dip your hands in the paint and press them against the mirror for a few seconds. I bet the children would be happy to do this for you.
jar

Hand Scream:

What a nice jester to have this lovely jar of hand cream in the bathroom. You can use any old jar. Put some fake plastic bugs, frogs or snakes in the jar. Add a drop or two of green food coloring. Now complete the jar by making a little label to put on your jar that says "hand cream".

Hand Towel:

Why not decorate your towels for quests? This towel was decorated with a cloth iron-on of the Frankenstein monster that was purchased from a crafts store. They also have sew-ons and many different ones are available so you can customize your way.

T- Paper:

How nice to have this lovely critter in the bathroom waiting for your quests. Put a fake plastic bug or snake on top of your TP. This spider was purchased at a party store.

Rubber Mouse:

Place a rubber mouse on the floor near the sink, where it is out of the way but can still be seen. If you have one, place the mouse in a real mouse trap.

Seat Covers:

Yes, seat covers for Halloween with a matching rug. You can find them at stores like Marshall's or on the web. Your family and guests will know you cared enough to give them the best seat in the house. I have also seen towels for Halloween so you can go really wild.

Ghosts:

Place balloons with a ghost face behind your shower curtain. You can use regular white balloons or several helium filled balloons. Both look great, but the helium balloons are a bit scarier because they will move around a bit. The faces can be drawn on with a marker if you don't find balloons with faces. Put up some plastic spiders on the curtain also.

Psycho Shower:

You will need a mannequin, dress dummy or have to build a wooden frame for this. Dress the mannequin in a black dress and gray wig and place it in the shower behind a half closed shower curtain so your quests can see it. Fake blood was placed on the knife and dress. Dress Norman's mother in black as in "Psycho".

Jack-o-lantern:

Why not decorate the rest room for quests? It could be as easy as placing a Jack-o-lantern with a scented candle. Notice the water theme to go with the bathroom. Or place some 3" pumpkins in the bathroom in a nice arrangement.

Shower Hooks:

Shower hooks like these are available at bedding and crafts stores in season. They are available in different styles too.

Door Sign:

If this is the first time your guests will be at your home, make a sign to let them know where the lou is? Draw one of the drawings, in our drawing section or make one of your own. Print "Rest Room" on one side and "occupied" on the other so that the sign can be turned over when in use.

Window:

Add Halloween spirit to the windows, try some spooky curtains. Use old material or sheets and wash them in gray dye. Rinse and wash them immediately until you are sure that there is no extra dye. Tatter the sheet edges to make them look old. Or decorate your windows with some pictures that you make yourself. Go to the "Coloring Pages" on this web site.
