Hello, My name is Teresa Kempton and my 5 year old , Meghan, has Rasmussens
Encephalitis. She had a Hemi in July of 05, and is paralyzed on her left
side and is such a spunky child.
Meghan had a Grand Mal in her car seat in Oct. 04 and was taken by ambulance
to the local hospital. She was still seizing and in and out of consciousness,
and they ended up transferring her to Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento
CA. She was in and out of the hospital for a while, and they found a lesion
on her brain. So in Dec. 04 she had a Right Frontal Lobectomy. When they
got the biopsy back from, they called us at home and asked up to go in.
Well when we got there we were told that Meghan had a very rare type of
encephalitis, and she will probably die. Well I didn't take that as a final
answer, so I did a lot of research and decided to have the right half of
her brain removed, which they did in July. If you would like to read about
her more, or if you would like to ask any questions email me.
Thank you for letting me talk.
