  Julia Ficaj "baby Julia" was 13 months old, when she was infected in Roscommon County, Houghton Lake, Michigan in June of 2005.

The type of encephalitis remains 'mysterious' (but no professional denies the profound mosquito bites and the bizarre purpura that formed around the bites, which is why she was taken into the hospital in the first place - 3 times in 2 days!).
