My name is Ruth Fell and I had Sleeping Sickness when I was 2 1/2 years
and my parents were living in Troy, New York at the time. In 1969 I took
charge of my life and started going toward my GED. I finally passed my GED
in June 2006. 2007 is a year for me to have Keto with me. He opens the apartment
door, pushes the handicapped buttons for the door to open to go outside.
He picks up dropped objects and picks up change if I should drop it. He
knows how to pull the emergency cord incase I need help.
I attend Adult Day Care three days a week with the Independent Living for Seniors (ILS) and there I work on the computer and have physical
therapy. I am also studying Graphic Design and Annimation at Anthem College Online and doing quite well with it.
I have moved around New York State a lot and now I am settled in Rochester, New York and do not intend to move from here. I was 80 when
I passed my GED and now I am 82 and will be 83 in August.
