Encephalitis Cases

My brother in law was diagnosed recently with ADEM. He was found unconscious in his bed on May 29th 2009 and this is ill new to us. He is a 26 year old man with no prior history of this. He is in the U.S., in a hospital in Huntsville, Alabama. We are currently trying to get him to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Michael has no insurance as he is on Medicaid and his hospital time has been covered only for 16 days. We are desperately seeking medical funding to help Michael get the therapy that he needs. We think that his particular case of ADEM may be of interest as far as researching, because he has a 2 ½ year old son who was diagnosed with Sturge Webber disease 24 months ago. Neither of these Diseases has ever been seen in our family in the past. We wonder, could these two things be linked and this be an important case to research for future patients of either disease. If you can direct me to information or places to seek medical funding for Michael Lamb, please help. We are desperate for help and unsure of where to begin. Thank you for your time, Donna Ikard
