Hi my name is Jon Fry, I am from Oak Harbor, Washington, and I suffered from Encephalitis at the age of 3 years old. I am now 21. I got this disease
after having Chicken Pox. I don't know the story of what totally happened but I have heard a great deal from my Grandmother, and my Mother. My grandmother
said I was watching television and all of a sudden I vomited and fell unconscious. So she rushed me to the hospital and the only thing I remember
at that time was being awake and I was being rushed into the hospital and they were putting an oxygen mask on me. I did not like it and I tried to
force it away, then I went out again and the next thing I remember is getting in a helicopter. That is all I remember by myself.
The rest of my story is from my grandparents told me. They said I was unconscious again and they did not know if I were going to wake up. They said that once the cosby show came on I woke up, but with much brain damage. I knew nothing at the time, I had to relearn every thing, my parents said when I got angry or didn't get my way I would kick them or yell harshly. Now I am devastated by my story, knowing that I did that to my family. That I could have died! It is frightening but now I am fine and telling my story. I hope that all people could be as fortunate as I was. It makes me upset knowing tons of people die and I am an exception I just want you people to know that if you try hard and give a little courage you can make it through. That is my story, Thank You
