Hi, My name is Erin, a 28 year old woman and I live in Philadelphia. I contracted Viral Encephalitis when I was 27 (July, 31,2003.)
The docs never found out how I got it. (Personally I think it was either a tick or a mosquito).
Anyway, I was put into an induced coma and woke up about 3 months after. I had to relearn how to walk, talk, hold my head up, and many other handicaps.
The most painful was getting my fingers to bend again. I am back to work part time. I still have cognitive thinking and memory problems and have seizures. But I made a remarkable recovery.
