I had West Niles in 2004 in Texas.
I went to LA. for a little vacation. We went to see the horses run and there were a lot of mosquitoes near the horsees. After a few days I started to have a severe headache, aspirin did not work. I went to lay down and my husband could not wake me up. I woke up a week later in ICU. During that week I had 108 fever, seizures,and stopped breathing several times. I do not remember anything after laying down. When I woke up I had problems with balance, speech, and memory. Even still to this day I still have allot of problems.
