Brent is my name and I am from Utah. I am 57 years old and had encephalitis caused by the mumps in 1956, I was 4 years old at the time. I under went brain surgery at Holy Cross Hospital Salt Lake.
They drilled two holes through the back of my skull and drained the brain fluid if you will. I had double vision and in 1956 when this occurred my head was 22 inches in diamter from the pressure.
I recovered totally? I can't say but in 1956 not really knowing what was going on I guess I was lucky. Other children that were in there with the same problem died. Good to be alive, Thanks and god bless you all.
